meet ives

Hi there! I’m a clinical pharmacist turned fitness instructor and running coach, dedicated to helping athletes of all levels find joy and progress in their running journey. With nearly a decade of group fitness experience, I understand that knowledge is power—and I’m passionate about equipping runners with the insights, strategies, and support they need to thrive.

As a mom of three, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to balance training with work and childcare. That’s why I emphasize progress over perfection—celebrating every step forward, no matter how small. My coaching philosophy integrates strength training as a key pillar, ensuring runners stay healthy, strong, and resilient.

You’ll often find me in Seattle leading sessions at Barry’s and Equinox, sharing my energy and love of movement. Let’s work together to build a training plan that fits your life, your goals, and your unique path.

I found running in 2013 after moving to Seattle for my pharmacy residency, and it quickly became a cornerstone of my life. After completing my first half marathon in 2014, I set a goal to run a full marathon in 2015—and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’d describe myself as a “Type 2 fun” runner: passionate about marathons but also drawn to triathlons, trail races, and ultras. I’ve completed 5 of the 6 World Major Marathons and have my sights set on Tokyo in 2026.

Some of my personal bests include:

  • Half Marathon: 1:24

  • Marathon: 2:54:03 (Mesa, one year postpartum – 3rd in AG, 9th female overall)

  • 50K: 4:33:26 at Smith Rock Ascent (1st female, 4th overall, 9th fastest time on the course)

I began teaching group fitness in 2016 and hold certifications in prenatal/postpartum fitness, nutrition, and myofascial release through foam rolling. I’ve also been involved with CSRD since 2017 and previously coached both mile improvement and marathon training programs. Currently, I serve as a lead for Cooldown Running Seattle, a new chapter of the social running club, and now lead at Equinox Rainier Tower as their Precision Run Lead and strength coach.

As a parent of three, I understand the challenges of balancing movement with everyday life. I believe running should be accessible to everyone—not just those chasing long-distance PRs. Whether you're new to running, coming back after a break, or just looking for a structured plan and support system, I'm here to help.

I’m currently completing my UESCA run coaching certification and bring firsthand experience from working with two running coaches of my own. Coaches need coaches, too!
